Try to follow me now. Try to catch me I'll slither right out. Repulsive but stylish little me. Try to follow me now. Try to catch me I'll slither right out. Elusive and unrefined Try to grab my attention. Try to level, I'll sink through the floor. Repulsive but stylish little me. Remember the plans you tried to make? A spotless glassy penthouse built on flimsy stacks of shake Go on and gather the pieces that remain. A tribute to your able body Your gift to play the game Try to follow me now. Try to catch me I'll slither right out. Elusive and unrefined Try to grab my attention. Try to level, I'll sink through the floor. Repulsive but stylish little me. Remember the dream you tried to find? Halted in its footsteps, but forever in your mind Gravity pulls us toward the floor. Go on and take another footstep, and open up another door. Try to follow me now. Try to catch me I'll slither right out. Elusive and unrefined Try to grab my attention. Try to level, I'll sink through the floor. Repulsive but stylish little me. Try to follow me now. Try to catch me I'll slither right out. Elusive and unrefined Try to grab my attention. Try to level, I'll sink through the floor. Repulsive but stylish little me. Try to follow me now. Try to catch me I'll slither right out. Elusive and unrefined Try to grab my attention. Try to level, I'll sink through the floor. Repulsive but stylish little me.

The air outside is breathing. Oh yea, you know that you can feel it too. Don't you? We make our vision like a mirror, and see forever forward while we sing. Tonight we stand under the canvas, with hands held high we'll never let them down. That's why we feel. . . Alive, on fire We stare. Oh can you see our eyes? Burn white So wild We sing your name. I disappear into the crowd. The noise will drift below me as I sing. My lonely voice is reaching to you, alone. It rattles round inside your head. That's why I feel. . . Alive, on fire We stare. Oh can you see our eyes? Burn white So wild We sing your name. Alive, on fire We stare. Oh can you see our eyes? Burn white So wild We sing your name.

Time Stops 03:57
In this moment, time stops. An eye is upon me, but I can't see you. There's something here between the air, I'll never understand. It's moving right through us and never ends. Maybe that's why we're standing right here, spinning around and around, calculating everything that all comes out just the same. Breathing in, breathing out. Breathing in Breathing out In this moment, time stops. The lights, they go out for all of us. for all of us. for all of us. for all of us.

For Me 03:32
Plant your bare feet right here in the grass. The moment flows through you. The moments, they pass. Feel the cold, the cool, the freezing breezy night. My words are a way for me to get inside you. For me to get inside you. For me Open you up, you run in an empty field and every blade beneath you feels so real. But who am I to watch? Yea, who am I to care at all? My words are a way for me to get inside your head. For me to get inside your head. For me For me to get inside you. For me

Fakey 04:03
I pull my shades over my eyes, my windows too. The sky is a hazy dream now. A memory in the frozen water (the frozen water) So what is the message here? The song that you're trying to send me The notes in the frigid swirling air The light that's hiding all around me I listen on bated foggy breath. I see you in glimpses. I see you in hazy dreams. A memory in the frozen water (the frozen water) And where were you before the sky fell down on me? The pillars are marching together. The last gaps are all flashing their colors. Swim while you can through the smoke screen. Before we are trapped in the frozen water (the frozen water) And where were you before the sky fell down on me? And where were you the day that they finally pulled their curtains to the side? Let us in we cry. Into the frozen water (the frozen water)

Four walls and a window, you love your white little box. Peer out your window at all those creatures on the sidewalk. Well, how does my face look backlit and complacent? Paint a sunny picture drawn up in a basement. Would you please sign your name inside our white little box? Press this button here for fame. Press this button for a new thought. And, what a perfect reminder in full flashing color. Just some neat little shapes to keep your worries all in order. And they say that you've just about made it. The light at the end is so clear it's causing your picture to bend. You say "I'm not alone. I've got my white little box, and now all of my friends are at the tip of my finger!" Now if you go out there, a box in your pocket. A living reminder, electrical prophet. And if the sun should set, you're likely to forget it. Little box will call the tune, as long as you will let it. And they say that you've just about made it. The light at the end is so clear it's causing your picture to bend. You say "I'm not alone. I've got my white little box, and now all of my friends are at the tip of my finger!" "All of my friends are at the tip of my finger!" "All of my friends!" "All of my friends are at the tip of my finger!" "All of my friends!" "All of my friends!" "All of my friends are at the tip of my finger!" All of my friends. All of my friends. All of my friends.

Put your fears aside. Break through the edges. Take back your breath and blood. Don't look back they say or all you have will just be lost again. You try to hold it all but it slips through your fingers. It slips through your fingers, and now you carry nothing as you disappear between the air. Where have you gone to? How could you have known a shadow crept behind you, watching your feet fall, haunting every footstep a whisper from inside your head? You try to hold it all but it slips through your fingers, like so much water. Leave it right below you as you disappear into the air. Where have you gone to? So weightless This dream of mine So timeless between thin air. Where have you gone to? So weightless This dream of mine So timeless between thin air. So weightless This dream like mine So timeless between thin air.

You Got It 03:10
Like a light from their eyes, shine through your skylights. It's just another free ride right to the finish line. If you're feeling electric, choke on this chill pill. If you feel like an animal, you better believe me. There’s a storm on the television. you want it, you got it. Like a gun underground, you want it you bought it. Keep a string on your finger. You want it, you got it. There's some blood in your eyes that leaves you lost and blind. You're so blind! With a gun in their hands they’re ten feet taller. Keep a string on your finger help you to remember. If you want it right now You want it you got it Climb on under their finger so you can feel safe and sound. With the sun in your eyes, they lead you around the room. Keep a string on the finger helping you to remember. If you want it right now you want it, you got it. If you feel like an animal you better bite back. There's a buzz on the radio. You want it, you got it, like a gun in the hand shot through your memory. There's a step on the sidewalk, a friendly follower. There’s some blood in your eyes so you better believe me. You better believe me. You better believe. You better believe. You better believe. You better believe me. You better believe. You better believe. You better believe. You better believe me. You're so blind. You're so blind.

Upstairs 03:49
Look at your faces, blooming inside. Hover in places all of us tend to hide. Blossoms in your skull are reaching for the sun, Knowing that the evening passes over everyone. Lift up your head from under the surface. See what you see when you see from upstairs. Lift up your head from under the surface. See what you see. Lift up your eyes from writing on the ground. Don't trip over their lies. Drown away their constant sound. Shoots grow from your fingers, reaching for the sun, Knowing that the morning rises over everyone. Lift up your head from under the surface. See what you see when you see from upstairs. Climb. Keep climbing, knowing that the evening passes over everyone. Climb. Keep climbing, knowing that the morning rises over everyone. Climb. Keep climbing, knowing that the evening passes over everyone. Climb. Keep climbing, knowing that the morning rises over every last one.

Welcome to the end, the meeting of all paths, where we have been breathing our first and very last. Though our eyelids are falling, we see through the shadows. Floating in airwaves Beating inside your chest We are designing an echo to ring around your homes. a circle expanding as we are losing our control Our voices grow tired of waking and sleeping. floating in airwaves beating inside your chest Your chest rises as ours become still. We disappear forever, but live in electric signals, and now we breath inside you in clouds of scattered noise. We walk in your pathways We feel just the same way We're floating in airwaves, beating inside your chest. Floating in Airwaves Your chest rises as ours become still. as ours become still as ours become still as ours become still

about

Clouds of Scattered Noise is Headphone's debut album. It is the culmination of years of writing and recording. Many of the songs have had several incarnations which were repeatedly scrapped and improved upon. This album is the available to the listener and is exactly how the band wanted each track to sound. Please enjoy.

Headphone was started by Morgan McRae and Philip Cullin, and was developed over 4 years in San Diego. Several musicians had different roles in the first couple years as the group honed its sound, writing, and recording style. The group solidified as a three piece when Darren Goldberg joined the group on bass.

The music itself blends their interests in everything from classical / jazz to electronic dance and indie rock. The lyrics look at the enigmatic space between connection and detachment, hopefulness and despair. Make sure to catch their intense live performance if you can. Headphone is fueled by sonic contrast, subtle moods and explosive dynamics.
